Gonzaga University Myrtle Woldson Performing Arts Center

Solarc was proud to provide energy modeling for design assistance and LEED certification on this beautiful performing arts center. Myrtle Woldson Performing Arts Center is a 57,550 square foot facility that provides spaces for performance, rehearsal, and instruction for the departments of music and theater & dance at Gonzaga University. Integrating architectural and engineering practices through early design energy modeling, Solarc assisted the design team in creating an energy efficient building that achieved LEED Silver certification.

Commercial Windows Attachment (SGS) Initiative

Solarc teamed with the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (NEEA) and Navigant Consulting, Inc. to research window attachments, which includes products installed in commercial and residential markets. This study focused on secondary glazing systems (SGS), which are commercial single-pane window retrofits installed on the interior side of a building. The study’s goal was to conduct initial market research to confirm product performance, barriers, and market information sufficient to inform a preliminary market baseline. Solarc's role was to provide analysis with the use of prototypical commercial buildings in various regions in North America. Solarc was tasked with economic analysis services for secondary glazing systems and the development of an Excel-based simplified savings calculator based on Energy Plus modeling results.

Oregon State University

As the energy analyst and re-commissioning advisor, Solarc assisted Oregon State University staff and external contractors with optimization of the HVAC plant repair and controls optimization for energy savings and utility incentives.

Harrison Medical Center

As the energy modeler, SEG assisted Affiliated Engineers and NBBJ with heating and cooling loads analysis and energy modeling for code compliance and utility incentives.

Community School

As the M/F/P Designer, Solarc assisted Mithun in the retrofit of an office building into a boarding school.
